UMTS 900
Quintel QVT 4000 products allow UMTS 900 to be added to existing GSM 900 sites without increasing the number or size of antennas, without new or additional feeders and therefore without the cost and delays associated with site upgrades and acquisitions.
The anticipated spectrum liberalisation in Europe will allow mobile operators to use their GSM 900 spectrum for UMTS services. These different access technologies have different interference tolerance characteristics and generally serve different spatially distributed traffic, and hence demand independent optimisation to maximise coverage and capacity for overall network performance.
Through a simple antenna swap-out UMTS 900 can be deployed on existing GSM 900 sites and provide independent optimisation per service through remote electrical tilt using Quintel’s QVT 4000 antennas.
